National Rural Emergency Preparedness Workshop Series – Register Now
NZ Landcare Trust, alongside key partners, is delivering a national series of Rural Emergency Preparedness Workshops designed to strengthen resilience across farming communities throughout Aotearoa.
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), in partnership with NZ Landcare Trust, Avalon Communications, Taranaki Catchment Communities, the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI), Rural Support Trust, and other organisations, proudly supports this workshop series.
These workshops, built around the Toolbox Module developed by Taranaki Catchment Communities, offer practical tools and expert guidance for rural professionals, catchment leaders, and farmers to better prepare for, respond to, and recover from adverse events.
What You’ll Learn
These engaging, interactive, and fast-paced sessions focus on four key areas:
- Emergency Preparedness
- Response Coordination
- Recovery Planning
- Building Long-Term Resilience
Participants will walk away with actionable frameworks and resources they can immediately implement in their own communities. The goal is to empower landowners and farmers to strengthen their ability to plan for, navigate, and recover from emergencies, fostering resilience before, during, and after an event.

Workshops are being held nationwide, with confirmed dates and locations including
- 30 April – Waitomo, Waikato (10:00am–4:00pm)
- 4 May – Mangatangi Hall, North Waikato (10:00am–4:00pm)
- 13 May – Katikati / Te Puna, Bay of Plenty (10:00am–4:00pm)
- 19 May – Whangārei Barge Park Events Centre (10:30am–2:30pm)
