Biodiversity

Biodiversity is about maintaining a rich diverse ecosystem, with many different types of plants and animals. Preserving a complex web of life where interaction between organisms leads to a stable, balanced, sustainable environment.

This need not be at odds with farming. An increasing number of farmers appreciate the need for sustainable farming practice and the role of biodiversity within farm management.

New Zealand has a long term strategy designed to preserve the diversity of native species. More information can be found here.
